You Are Invited! Jira and Confluence Nordic Conference 2012

Us here at Ambientia have been some busy bees lately setting up an exciting day for everyone enthusiastic or curious about the two great Atlassian products, Jira and Confluence. On October 25th some of our most important customers, partners and us will gather at the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki to organize the biggest Atlassian conference in the Nordics, and invite you to join us for an inspiring day of learning, networking and fun. The full-day conference consists of interesting partner presentations and enlightening customer cases targeted for those considering Atlassian products, those already using them or those who are merely curious about them and enjoy a good old conference day out of the office. Our partners for this event include Atlassian,Tempo, Eduix, RefinedWiki, DreamBroker, Stepstone, Documill and Customware.

It may show that we are very excited about Confluence and Jira and want to help others find these great products too. That is, in fact, how we have got to this point in the first place: Ambientia started with using Confluence internally, but once we realized how well it supports the communication and collaboration of our employees and teams, we ended up offering it also to our customers. And now, we are the only Platinum level partner for Atlassian in the whole Nordic region and proud to be able to organize this event – and to do so in such an elegant setting!

During the Jira and Confluence Nordic Conference 2012 we’ll bring you our partners to share their expertise on these two products. Perttu Tolvanen, the editor of  the Vierityspalkki.fi blog, compares Confluence with other intranet systems – mainly Sharepoint, Drupal and Liferay. Antti Miettinen, the communications director of Finnair, will give his keynote speech presenting the case of their brand new corporate intranet that was implemented with Confluence. Here’s what Perttu thought about the outcome:

On the Jira track, a group of different customers will show you first-hand how they have used this project and issue tracking software for their specific business purposes in different fields. Minna Heikkilä from STX Finland introduces the way Jira is used in a large shipbuilding organization as a tool for task management, tracking and reporting (read the case here). We also have a few presentations that explain the agile project management method that is so well supported by Jira. In addition, our own Henri Sora will explain the concept of ShipIt Day: our inspiring means for fostering employee creativity and motivation by letting everyone use 24 hours for working on their own projects that are somehow derived from or connected to what Ambientia does. This specific concept was originally created by Atlassian, but the phenomenon can be seen in other forms as well – for instance, at Google where employees can use 20 % of their time on similar projects.

Looking forward to meeting you all at Finlandia Hall and having an exciting day with the Atlassian community! You can also join the conversation on Twitter by using the hashtag #JCN12.
